Born on March 1, 1999, Oswaldo Alberto Cabrera is a shortstop with the New York Yankees organization and is a member of the Venezuelan national baseball team.
Cabrera comes from Guarenas in Venezuela. When he was just 16 years old, he became a free agent and signed with the Yankees. After the 2021 campaign at Double-A Northeast, the most valuable player award was bestowed upon Cabrera.
Because the Yankees have him on their 40-man roster, he is no longer subject to the Rule 5 draft and cannot be taken by another team. The Yankees have designated Cabrera for assignment to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in preparation for the 2022 season.
