Chadwick Hudson Pinder is a Major League Baseball utility player who currently plays for the Oakland Athletics.

Pinder attended Virginia’s Poquoson High School. In 2009 and 2010, he and teammate Kyle Crockett led their high school baseball team to state championships.

 

Pinder was a member of the Virginia Tech Hokies’ baseball team from 2011 to 2013. He appeared in 150 games and batted .323/.389/.509 with 18 home homers. He played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Chatham Anglers in 2012.

The Oakland Athletics selected Pinder in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.

In that same year, he made his professional debut with the Vermont Lake Monsters, where he stayed the entire season, batting .200 with three home runs and eight RBIs in 42 games.

He hit .288 with 13 home runs and 55 RBIs in 94 games with the Stockton Ports in 2014. In 117 games with the Midland RockHounds in 2015, he slashed .317/.361/.486 with 15 home runs and 86 RBIs.

That season, Pinder was named the Texas League Player of the Year. He participated in the Arizona Fall League after the season. With the Nashville Sounds, he began the 2016 season.
