Justin Layne, a cornerback for the New York Giants in the National Football League, was created on January 12, 1998. He participated in collegiate football for Michigan State. In Cleveland, Ohio, Layne attended Benedictine High School.
Layne competed with current NFL linebacker Jerome Baker there. In high school, he was a wide receiver and cornerback. He decided to enroll at Michigan State University to play football.

The Steelers placed Layne on the reserve/COVID-19 list on July 29, 2020. He entered service on August 11, 2020. He took part in all 16 of the Steelers’ games, making a total of 22 tackles.
On August 30, 2022, the Steelers released him.
On August 31, 2022, the New York Giants claimed Layne off waivers.
