Pierre Strong Jr., a former standout for San Diego State University, has been selected in the fourth round by the New England Patriots to play for them in the National Football League.
In the year 2021, Strong Jr. carried for a total of 1,686 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. He also added 62 passing yards and four more touchdowns while throwing for 150 receiving yards and scoring four more times.
Following an outstanding showing at the 2022 NFL Combine, the former Jackrabbit, who was already regarded as one of the best running backs available in this year’s NFL Draft, saw his draft status rise even more.
Strong Jr. finished his career with 4,527 total yards gained on the ground. That is good for third all-time in San Diego State University’s football program.
Strong displayed his explosive speed at the NFL Scouting Combine in March. His 4.37 second 40-yard dash was the fastest of all running back prospects for the year 2022.
