Clint Mosley Jr. is a linebacker for the New York Jets of the National Football League. Mosley grew up in Theodore, Alabama, where he competed on the football, basketball, and track teams at Theodore High School. He had 112 tackles, 4 sacks, and 1 interception as a sophomore for a 6-5 Bobcats team that was eliminated from the Class 6A semifinals by Auburn.
In his junior year, Mosley earned ASWA 6A All-State honors and set a new school record with 176 tackles (115 solo). He also had 17 tackles for loss, seven sacks, caused four turnovers, recovered two, and intercepted two passes.
As a senior in 2009, Mosley not only broke his own school record with 186 tackles, but he also recorded seven sacks, five fumble recoveries, and four interceptions. Even though Theodore went 9-2 during the regular season, they were eliminated from postseason contention by T. J. Yeldon’s Daphne squad, with whom he would later play at Alabama.
Regardless, Mosley was named Class 6A Lineman of the Year and ASWA 6A All-State for the second year in a row. After graduating from Theodore, he had made over 500 tackles throughout his career, making him the school’s all-time leader in that category.
Mosley also competed for the school in track and field. His time in the 110-meter hurdles was 16.15 seconds, and his time in the 200-meter sprint was 24.33 seconds. His bests in the high jump were 1.80 meters, the long jump was 6.58 meters, and the triple jump was 12.6 meters in the jumping events. Furthermore, he participated in the 4 x 100 m relay (a time of 43.44 seconds).
