Parker Allen Mushinski is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros in the United States (MLB). In 2022, he made his MLB debut.
Argyle High School in Argyle, Texas was Mushinski’s alma mater. Mushinski had a 2.10 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 51 innings as a senior in 2014.
Mushinski went undrafted out of high school and played collegiate baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders for three seasons (2015-2017).
He had a 3–2 record with a 2.15 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 37+23 innings as a junior. In the seventh round of the 2017 MLB draft, he was selected by the Houston Astros and signed with them.
Mushinski made his professional debut in 2017, finishing 3–1 with a 3.60 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 30 innings with the Tri-City ValleyCats.
He went 4–2 with a 2.33 ERA and 114 strikeouts in 89 innings with the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2018.
Mushinski pitched for the GCL Astros, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, and the Corpus Christi Hooks during the 2019 season, going 0–2 with a 4.35 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 62 innings.
He did not play in 2020 since the Minor League Baseball season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mushinski pitched for the Sugar Land Skeeters in 2021 and had a 2.84 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 12+23 innings. The Sugar Land Space Cowboys were his first team in the 2022 season.
Houston picked Mushinski’s contract and promoted him to the active roster on April 16, 2022.
