The Cleveland Guardians; popularly known as Guardians are an American professional baseball team. In past years, they were known as Cleveland Indians but found it being racist. It then dawned on management to try and get a new name.
The search started with over 1200 choices but the team finally settled on its new name due to Guardians of Traffic statues near Progressive Field in Cleveland, located on the Hope Memorial Bridge. The name change took place in 2021.
The Guardians are the second in the AL Central coming right after the White Sox. The Guardians have their colors be white, navy blue, and red.
