Harrison Butker was born on July 14, 1995, and is a professional American football placekicker who currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He was a member of the Georgia Tech football team. With a career field goal percentage (minimum 100 attempts) of 90.0 percent, he is second only to Justin Tucker in NFL history in field goal percentage.
Butker attended The Westminster Schools, where he was a member of the football squad as a rising sophomore after discovering the sport as a rising freshman. He kicked a 53-yard field goal, breaking the previous school record (at the time).
He was a three-sport athlete who competed in basketball, football, and soccer, winning three state championships in soccer. He was also the first-chair tuba player for the school’s (upperclassman) symphonic band for all four years of his high school career.
Butker was a member of the Georgia Tech football team from 2013 through 2016 when he played under head coach Paul Johnson. For his senior season, Butker was named team captain after being the all-time leading scorer in school history. His extra point efforts were successful on 220 of his 210 attempts, and his field-goal attempts were successful on 43 of his 60 attempts during his college career.
