James Wade is an English professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at the age of 24.
After defeating Warren French and Dave Ladley in 2007, Wade progressed to the PDC World Championship final 16 with a 4-3 victory over Terry Jenkins.
The PDC’s Young Player of the Year title followed, and his global rating had risen to number 11.
After that, he returned to Blackpool to compete in the World Matchplay, where he won the title and became the youngest player to win a PDC televised event.
He had to beat Wayne Jones, Dennis Priestley, Mervyn King, Adrian Lewis, and Terry Jenkins to win the title and the £50,000 check.
Despite Wade’s decisive win against Jenkins, many consider his semi-final triumph versus Lewis to be one of the greatest Winter Gardens performances ever witnessed.
With a score of 17–7, Wade was the victor despite the fact that he checked out nearly 70 percent of his doubles during the match.
