Sean Michael McDermott, an American football coach, is the head coach of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was born on March 21, 1974. (NFL). He debuted his NFL coaching career in 2001 as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, then working as defensive coordinator through 2009 to 2010, and also as defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2016.

Life outside of work, McDermott has two children, a son and a girl, with his wife Jamie. Madeline is the name of their daughter. The name of his son is not known currently. Orchard Park, New York is home to the family.
McDermott grew raised in Pennsylvania after being born in Omaha, Nebraska. When McDermott was in second grade, his family moved to Lansdale after living in West Chester and Paoli. McDermott started his high school career at North Penn and then transferred to La Salle College High School, where he was selected All-Southeastern Pennsylvania defensive back in 1992 and graduated in 1993.
In 1992 and 1993, he was the national prep wrestling champion. At the College of William & Mary, where he was an all-conference safety, he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance (1997). He played wide receiver alongside future Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who faced McDermott on a regular basis.
