Steve bought a 49% share of Raven and had the option to buy 51% of the team for $325million from Art Modell in 2004. Both deals were approved by the NFL in March 27, 2000 and April 9, 2004 respectively.
He established Castle in 2004 and appointed John Harbaugh as the new coach who went on to win the Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco in 2012.
