Robinson was a three-year starter for the Oklahoma Sooners, playing guard before moving to right tackle in 2021. While he lacks the length to play tackle at the next level, his power and attitude make him an excellent mauler at guard in a power run scheme.
He’s a stout individual, and going through him is a tough ask. He also invites contact, wanting to battle hard and finish blocks through the whistle. His effort isn’t in question, and he will sprint around looking for work after burying his first matchup. What is in question is his feet.
He’s rather slow and not very fluid, with a very poor 3.05 relative athletic score. Defenders who attack him with counters and twists can get around him, and he also struggles to stay latched onto guys.
He’s the definition of “if you can’t go through him, go around,” a trait which at least gets somewhat mitigated at guard. Robinson is a road-grader in the run game, and he will bowl over the first guy he can get his weight on. He may not offer much more than that, but that in itself is a valuable skill set.
Robinson was ranked as a top-five guard and a top-100 prospect overall coming out of Boyd High School in Texas. As a redshirt freshman in 2018, he played in five games as a reserve.
Robinson then started all 14 games in 2019 (12 at right guard, two at right tackle) in 2019 and then all 11 games at right guard in 2020. He was a second-team All-Big 12 Conference selection in 2021, starting all 12 games for the Sooners at right tackle.
