James Nathaniel Brown is a retired fullback in the National Football League, as well as a sports analyst and actor. From 1957 through 1965, he was a member of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.
Brown was a Pro Bowl selection every season of his career, was named the AP NFL Most Valuable Player three times and led the Browns to an NFL title in 1964. In eight of his nine seasons, he led the league in rushing yards, and by the time he retired, he had destroyed most major rushing records. He was crowned the greatest professional football player ever by The Sporting News in 2002.
Brown was an all-around player for the Syracuse Orangemen football team throughout his collegiate football career, earning unanimous All-America accolades.
