Who is Alex Mack?

Javon Alexander Mack was born on November 19, 1985, and currently plays for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers (NFL). He attended the University of California and was selected 21st overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Mack was born in the Los Angeles area of the state of California. He graduated from San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, where he was selected the Channel League’s Co-Most Valuable Defensive Player and a first-team all-league selection.

Additionally, he was named to the All-CIF team. Mack also wrestled for the Royals for four years, losing only two matches his senior year and reaching the state final. As a junior and senior, he was a CIF champion. In the classroom, he had a 4.2 grade point average and an SAT score of 1180.

Mack was the highest-ranked center available in the 2009 NFL Draft, with Sports Illustrated projecting him as a first- or second-round pick. The Cleveland Browns selected him with the 21st overall pick.

He is the first Golden Bears offensive lineman to be drafted in the first round since 1997’s Tarik Glenn.
