In a terrible tale of body-shaming and the compulsive pursuit of near-impossible beauty standards, a young Kannada actress who went to a private hospital in Bengaluru for fat removal surgery died yesterday. Chethana Raj, a 21-year-old TV celebrity, died as a result of the hospital’s carelessness, according to her family.
Chethana Raj allegedly went to Dr. Shetty’s Cosmetic Clinic in Rajajinagar with her pals for cosmetic surgery without informing her parents.
Before she was transported into surgery, her buddy allegedly signed the permission form. Her lungs apparently filled up with fluid soon after the treatment. Within hours, she died of a heart attack.
Her parents made a police report, and a case was launched against the physicians. The hospital has been closed.

Her parents claim that the hospital broke the regulations by not obtaining their agreement before the surgery and that the procedure was performed in an ICU with inadequate facilities.
According to accounts, physicians attempted CPR on her for 45 minutes but were unsuccessful. When the physicians realized she was unconscious, they allegedly rushed her to the adjacent Kaade Hospital and attempted to compel the doctors there to treat her.
According to the Kaade hospital, its physicians were under pressure to breach protocol for a patient who was brought dead. Chethana Raj was a familiar figure in Kannada daily soaps such as “Geetha” and “Doresani.”
