Colton McKivitz was born on August 9, 1996. He is an offensive tackle in American football for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He attended West Virginia University, where he played collegiate football.
McKivitz was born and raised in Belmont, Ohio, where he attended East Richland Christian High School until transferring to Union Local High School just before his sophomore year. McKivitz was a first-team All-Ohio selection as a senior.
McKivitz’s number was retired by Union Local in 2019. McKivitz, a three-star recruit, originally committed to Miami of Ohio but then flipped to West Virginia over offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Marshall, and Toledo.
The San Francisco 49ers selected McKivitz 153rd overall in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. The 49ers obtained the selection previously in a trade with the Miami Dolphins for Matt Breida.
In his NFL debut against the New York Jets in Week 2, he played eight offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
