Darrel Williams is an American football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at LSU. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
Williams carried the ball eight times against the Detroit Lions in Week 4 of the 2019 season, gaining 13 yards and scoring two touchdowns. He also caught three catches for 43 yards, contributing to the team’s victory by a score of 34–30.
Williams sustained a hamstring injury on December 5, 2019, and as a result, he was placed on injured reserve.
Through the course of the season’s final 12 games, he finished with 141 rushing yards and three touchdowns, in addition to 15 receptions for 167 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs went on to win Super Bowl LIV while he was out of the lineup, which was their first championship in half a century.
Williams concluded the 2020 season with 39 carries for 169 running yards and one rushing touchdown in addition to 18 receptions for 116 receiving yards. In the receiving game, Williams had 116 yards on 18 receptions.
Because Clyde Edwards-Helaire was unable to play because of an injury, he got the starting job for the Divisional Round game against the Cleveland Browns.
