Thomas Flynn Gordon, the father of Dee Gordon, is also known as “Tom Gordon” by his friends and family.

Thomas Flynn Gordon, also known as “Flash,” is an American former professional baseball right-handed pitcher and current radio colour commentator for the Boston Red Sox.

Gordon was born on November 18, 1967, and his nickname is “Flash.” In 1998, he was recognized as the best relief pitcher in the American League (AL) and was awarded the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year award.

He also ended first in the AL in terms of games completed and saves. Gordon broke the previous record for consecutive saves in Major League Baseball with 54.

In the sixth round of the Major League Baseball Draft in 1986, Gordon was taken by the Kansas City Royals. He went into retirement as the first pitcher in the history of Major League Baseball to record more than 100 wins,

more than 100 saves, and more than 100 holds. He is the father of five children by a total of four different women, although he has never married any of them. Juan Hillman, a pitcher in the lower leagues, is entrusted to Gordon as his guardian.

In the Stephen King novel The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Gordon is not only referenced by name in the novel’s title but he is also addressed rather frequently throughout the text.
