James Wade is an English professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at the age of 24.
Wade began playing darts competitively at the age of 14 and won his first tournament, the Basingstoke Open, before going on to represent England at the juvenile level in the sport.
In 2001, at the age of 18, he lost to John Walton in the British Classic finals. The following year, he won the Swiss Open.
Wade made his televised debut at the 2003 BDO World Championship, but lost 2–3 against Dennis Harbour after missing eight darts in the fourth set to win the match.
In 2003, he reached the final of the Norway Open, the semi-finals of the Belgian Open, and the quarter-finals of the Dutch Open in BDO Open events.
He defeated Shaun Greatbatch 3–0 in the first round of the 2004 BDO World Championship before falling to Darryl Fitton.
As a BDO-affiliated player, he made a number of quarter-final appearances in 2004, including at the German Open, the Isle of Man Open, and the International Darts League in May.
