Raheem Morris Biography
Raheem Morris is an NFL defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. From 2009 to 2011, he was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and in 2020, he was the interim head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He was born on September 3, 1976, in Newark, New Jersey, United States.
Morris earned a degree in physical education from Hofstra University in 1998 after playing safety at the school from 1994 to 1997.
In the same year, he began his collegiate coaching career at Hofstra University as a graduate assistant coach, where he was in charge of instructing the offensive scout squad, preparing scouting reports, and handling film dissection and computer input and evaluation.
He became the defensive backs coach and special teams assistant for Cornell University in 1999. He went back to Hofstra as the defensive backs coach after 1999. In 2001, he also interned with the New York Jets as a defensive minority.
Morris was contracted by the Buccaneers as their defensive quality control coach before the 2002 season, and he assisted them in having the best defense in the league. Morris after the Buccaneers Morris worked as the defensive coordinator for the Kansas State Wildcats under then-head coach Ron Prince for one season in 2006.
In addition to total defense, scoring defense, and pass defense, he helped the defense improve in other statistical areas. Then The Washington Redskins signed Morris as their defensive backs coach on January 11, 2012. He worked there for about 3 years and left.
Morris was hired as an assistant head coach/defensive back by the Atlanta Falcons on January 26, 2015. Morris was promoted from defensive backs coach to wide receivers coach on January 25, 2016.
After some time Morris finally settled and probably remained in Los Angeles Rams. There Morris was named as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams by head coach Sean McVay on January 21, 2021.
