The running back, Rico Sharod Dowdle Jr. is now a member of the National Football League team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Dowdle was a three-star recruit for the University of South Carolina’s football team when he graduated from high school and had already committed to playing for the Gamecocks.
He was transferred from his prior position as running back to the quarterback position when he was a senior, and he led the team to an overall record of 11-2 and a conference record of 6-0 under his direction.
On the ground, he was responsible for 51 touchdowns and ran the ball 247 times for a total of 2,545 yards. The Western North Carolina Conference now holds the record for the most touchdowns scored in a single season thanks to his 63 total touchdowns.
Dowdle was picked to serve as the team’s starting running back during both his junior and senior years at the University of Florida. Due to a sports hernia that necessitated him to have surgery over the offseason,
he was forced to miss the first four games of the season as a freshman and had to sit out the rest of the season.
He led the team in rushing touchdowns with six and finished with 764 yards and an average of 5.7 yards per carry on his 133 carries for a total of 764 yards.
In addition to that, he scored a touchdown for receiving and pulled in 15 receptions for a total of 55 yards. The fact that Dowdle played in a total of 39 games throughout his career and carried for a combined total of 2,167 yards and 16 touchdowns contributed to him ending 15th on the school’s all-time rushing list.
