For many years, the Braves had a wealth of talented players, but the team’s most successful period was from 1991 to 2005, when it won 14 straight division titles. In any sport, it was the most straight division championships.
Of all Atlanta Braves players, Hank Aaron is by far the most well-known, but the team has produced a slew of other greats who have helped make it what it is today.

Hank Aaron has been the most prolific home run hitter in baseball history for more than three decades. He also spoke out against MLB’s widespread prejudice and broke down boundaries between races throughout his career, however.
On April 8, 1974, Aaron shattered Babe Ruth’s home run record with his 715th blast, despite receiving death threats, receiving hate mail, and even facing a plot to kidnap one of his daughters. “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron hit 755 home runs in his career.
By the time he retired in 1976, Aaron had set twelve more big-league records and won three Gold Glove Awards. When Ted Turner, the owner of the Braves, appointed him vice president of player development, he became one of the first black people in that position in Major League Baseball.
Hank Aaron was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame with 97.8 percent of the vote cast on August 1, 1982. Aaron has been a longtime supporter of the NAACP and other civil rights organizations.
