Vanessa Jane Feltz is an English journalist, broadcaster, and television personality. She has made appearances on a number of television programs, including Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Big Brother, The Wright Stuff, The Big Breakfast, Vanessa, and The Vanessa Show.
After more than 20 years, Vanessa Feltz has announced that she is leaving her two BBC radio shows. The presenter will stop hosting her early morning breakfast program on BBC Radio 2 and the morning program she hosts on BBC Radio London.
Feltz declared that she had “loved every moment” and would miss her coworkers and listeners. However, she explained that in order to “make up on a much-needed decade’s deficit of beauty sleep,” she had to resign.
Since 2001 and since 2011, Feltz has hosted programs on BBC Radio London and Radio 2. On Friday, the 60-year-old will host her final early morning show on BBC Radio 2.
She will fill Jeremy Vine’s show for a week starting on August 15th, following a two-week vacation. On August 26, when she finishes covering Vine, she will leave BBC Radio 2 and host her farewell BBC Radio London show.
In contrast to Fetlz’s Radio 2 broadcast, which includes music, her BBC Radio London show is speech-based and includes news items and listener calls.
Feltz earns more than £400,000 a year for hosting her two daily radio shows, making her one of the highest-paid radio presenters at the BBC.
She will be replaced, although it has not yet been revealed who will do so. According to the BBC, schedule announcements will come later.
