Why Is Cain Velasquez In Jail?
Cain Velasquez is in jail because of attempted murder.
According to San José police reports, former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was detained for allegedly taking part in a gunshot in Morgan Hill, Santa Clara, California.
A guy was shot near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue, according to an NBC report from the Bay area, but he was sent to a local hospital with injuries that did not endanger his health.
At the scene of the shooting, a guy was apprehended, but no further information about what transpired or what triggered the incident was provided. Cain Velasquez was later identified as the culprit.
According to the official Twitter account of the Santa Clara County Jail, Cain Velasquez is being held at the county jail, where he has been assigned the number EGO439 and has been denied access to any form of bail, forcing him to spend the night there.
Velasquez’s first court appearance will be on March 2, 2022.
After quitting mixed martial arts three years ago and briefly dabbling in Mexican wrestling and WWE, the fighter was training at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) in San José, California.
The fighter had decided to rejoin the AKA in order to join a group of MMA coaches.
