Judith Dorothy Sherman, born on November 12, 1942, is a record producer and audio engineer from the United States.
She has been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards and has won 12 of them, including Producer of the Year and Classical six times (in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2022).
She has collaborated on records with contemporary composers such as Steve Reich, Elliot Carter, John Adams, John Corigliano, and Philip Glass.
Furthermore, she has collaborated with a number of notable performers, including the Alexander String Quartet, Kronos Quartet (Nuevo), Pacifica Quartet, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and London Symphony Orchestra, and Cleveland Quartet.
In 2009, she received the Richard J. Bogomolny National Service Award from Chamber Music America.
Sherman was married to Max Wilcox, a Grammy-winning song producer. The marriage was annulled. Curtis Macomber, a violinist, is her current husband.
Sherman commissioned composer George Perle to write a piece in her mother’s memory when her mother died. Triptych for Violin and Piano debuted in New York City on January 27, 2003.
