Who’s The Best Hitter Of All Time?
Ted Williams is the best hitter of all time as far as baseball is concerned. Williams was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played his entire 19-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career, primarily as a left fielder, for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960.
For most of his childhood, Williams played minor league baseball in San Diego, where he was raised. He became one of baseball’s top hitters as soon as he signed with the Red Sox in 1939.
As of this writing, Williams is the last MLB player to hit over.400 in a season (.406 in 1941). In 1942, he won the first Triple Crown of his career.
While serving in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps during World War II, Williams was forced to put his baseball career on hold for three full years.
In 1946, Williams returned to the major leagues and went on to win the American League MVP Award and play in one World Series. He won the Triple Crown for the second time in 1947. Williams served as a Marine combat aviator in the Korean War for parts of the 1952 and 1953 seasons.
As a 39-year-old and 40-year-old, respectively, he won the AL batting title for the fifth and sixth time.
