Melanie Clark Pullen, 46, was an Irish actress, producer, and writer. She majored in theater at Trinity College in Dublin. In 1997, she was cast in the BBC soap drama EastEnders shortly after graduating.
She held the position for 18 months before leaving in early 1999. She admitted having panic attacks and sadness after leaving EastEnders due to her fast climb to prominence.
Missing Stars, a play she co-wrote with writer Aoife Maguire, was produced in 2001 to show individuals suffering from mental illness that assistance is available.
Melanie appeared in ITV’s big-budget costume drama Lady Audley’s Secret in addition to EastEnders. She also appeared in the adaptation of The Railway Children in 2000, opposite Richard Attenborough and Jenny Agutter.
Doctors (2000), The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse (2005), and The Clinic (2006) are among her other film credits (2006). Melanie also has her own podcast, Strut, and Bellow.
Melanie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and has since had chemotherapy. During her therapy, it was revealed that she carried the BRCA 2 gene, which indicated she was predisposed to certain malignancies.
As a result, she was recommended to have a double mastectomy. She also underwent ovaries and tubes removal, as well as five rounds of radiation.
Clark Pullen was married to Simon Maxwell, a writer. The couple had three children together. Unfortunately, Simon has managed to stay out of the limelight, as such, there is little information about him.
