The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a Florida-based professional American football team. The Buccaneers are a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) South division of the National Football League (NFL). The franchise joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1976, along with the Seattle Seahawks, and competed in the American Football Conference (AFC) West division for the first season.
Tampa Bay swapped conferences and divisions with Seattle prior to the 1977 season and became a member of the NFC Central division. The Buccaneers joined three former NFC West teams to establish the NFC South after the league realigned prior to the 2002 season. The Glazer family owns the team, which plays its home games at Raymond James Stadium.

James Curtis Wilder Sr. played professional football with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins, and Detroit Lions in the National Football League.
He holds Buccaneer records for running yards, rushing attempts, and receptions (all of which were later surpassed by Mike Evans) and even established an NFL record in 1984 with 43 carries in a single game.
In 1984, he also set NFL records for rushes (407) and touches (492) in a single season since broken by Jamal Anderson and Larry Johnson.
