Jacques Perrin was a film director and actor from France. He was given the name Jacques Simonet on occasion.

He founded a film production firm at the age of 27 and produced and acted in Costa-Gavras’ Z, which starred Jean-Louis Trintignant, Yves Montand, and Irene Papas. In 1969, Z won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
