Ajla Tomljanović is a Croatian-Australian professional tennis player. She has won four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
Tomljanovi was born in Zagreb, Croatia, to a Croatian father, Ratko Tomljanovi, and a Bosnian mother, Emina, who both played handball professionally. She grew up watching her older sister, Hana, compete on the University of Virginia’s tennis team.
As a six-year-old, she began playing tennis and traveled to Florida for training at the age of 13. Fernando Martnez and Rene Gomez serve as her mentors in the sport. Basketball is another one of her passions.
Tomljanovi and Christina McHale beat Aleksandra Kruni and Sandra Zaniewska in the final of the 2009 Australian Open girls’ doubles tournament.
In Mexico City in October 2008, Tomljanovi competed in her first professional ITF Circuit event and fell to Estefana Cracin in the semifinals. ITF event in Mexico City qualified her, but she lost in the second round to Karolina Kosiska.
It was at Boca Raton, Florida, in January 2009 that she qualified for the ITF event, where she was defeated by Heidi El Tabakh in the second round. Wildcard: Tomljanovi lost to Angela Haynes at Indian Wells Open.

She has been dating Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini since August of this year. Her cousin, Félix Auger-Aliassime, is dating the couple’s fellow player Félix Auger-Aliassime.
