Andrew Jude Vasquez is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays (MLB). He was a member of the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the past.
Vasquez attended Rancho Cucamonga, California’s Los Osos High School. He was picked in the 44th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals, but he did not sign and went on to play college baseball at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Westmont College.
The Minnesota Twins selected him in the 32nd round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. During the 2017 offseason, he was a member of the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League. In September 2018, Vasquez got called up to the majors for the first time.
Vasquez was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Stevie Berman on August 31, 2021. On September 2, he was added to the major league roster. [7] He only appeared in two games with Los Angeles, pitching 1+23 innings on September 3rd and 5th.
In seven games, he only allowed one run on one hit while striking out three batters. [8] He also pitched for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings. Vasquez was non-tendered by the Dodgers on November 30, making him a free agent.
Vasquez signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on March 15, 2022.
