Angel David Zerpa is a professional baseball pitcher from Venezuela. He pitches for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. He was born on September 27, 1999, in Valle De La Pascua, Venezuela.
Angel began his professional career with a signing with the Kansas City Royals in 2016 as a free agent. The signing’s worth was around $100,000. In November 2020 he was officially ushered into the 40 man roster. He has established a record boost of 4.58ERA with 108 strikeouts. He went quiet after a while but was recalled to active duty on September 30, 2021.
Before his main professional debut, Angel with the Dominican Royals registered a 1.84 ERA with 39 strikeouts. Then with the Arizona Royals, he established a boost of 3.88 ERA with 34 strikes. The year 2020 was a hectic one as the pandemic came to disrupt proceedings.
In 2021, Zerpa was a sinker-slider pitcher who split his time between High and Double-A. He threw to a 4.34 ERA in 87 innings, striking out 8 batters per nine innings and walking only three batters.
Angel Zerpa Scouting Report
Angel’s scouting reports make it evident that he is more effective on the fastballs with an aiding bid of a 6 feet height.
Angel Zerpa Prospect Ranking
Angel Zerpa who is ranking 18th in prospect is only 6-feet tall and has a wide physique, so while he has the potential to be a starter, I believe he’d be best served in the relievers, where his fastball would be more effective. Zerpa must be in the Majors by now, and if he is, he may be able to play in high-leverage scenarios.
