Jeremy Hunt is a well-known politician in the United Kingdom who has been the Chancellor of the Exchequer since the 14th of October 2022.

Earlier in his career, he was a member of the Cabinet and held the positions of Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2012 to 2018, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2012 to 2018, and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 2018 to 2019.

Since 2005, he has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for South West Surrey, which is a position he obtained through his affiliation with the Conservative Party.



Hunt was born in Kennington. His father was a senior officer in the Royal Navy. He went to Oxford to study philosophy, politics, and economics at Magdalen College.

During his time there, he served as President of the Oxford University Conservative Association. In 2005, he won his first election to the House of Commons.

After being appointed to the position of Shadow Minister for Disabled People in the Shadow Cabinet, he was then elevated to the position of Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport.

From 2010 to 2012, Hunt was the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media, and Sport in the Coalition Government. He spearheaded the effort to establish local television, which resulted in numerous municipalities receiving broadcasting licenses from Ofcom.

Hunt was also in charge of the Olympics in 2012, which were held in London and garnered a lot of praise. His prior involvement in business has helped him become one of the wealthiest lawmakers in the UK.
