1. Tommy Nobis

Nobis was the team’s first draft pick, and he did not disappoint as one of the league’s top linebackers. He made five Pro Bowl appearances with the Falcons, was voted Defensive Rookie of the Year, and was chosen to the 1960s All-Decade Team. Nobis had 294 tackles in his debut season, which remains an NFL record.

2. Jeff Van Note

He established himself as one of the league’s finest centers by making the Pro Bowl six times. After Mike Kenn, he was the second-longest-serving player in franchise history with 246 games. He is currently a pre-and postgame co-host for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network.

3. Jessie Tuggle

As an undrafted rookie free agent, the Falcons signed Tuggle, and he hasn’t looked back. As a member of the Falcons’ Super Bowl-winning team in 1998, he was a three-time All-Pro. He had 1,293 tackles from 1990 to 1999, making him one of the top linebackers of the 1990s. When he retired in 2000, he had a record of 10 fumble recoveries, five of which were returned for touchdowns.

4. Bill Fralic

Bill Fralic, a former Falcons offensive lineman, is arguably the best run blocker in the team’s history. All-Decade NFL team and four Pro Bowl appearances in his illustrious career. He was voted Offensive Lineman of the Year by UPI in 1984.

5. Keith Brooking

When he was a rookie in 2001, Brooking became the fifth Falcons player to record 200 tackles in a single season. As one of the hardest players in Falcon’s history, Booking was also one of the best.

In the years after his season-ending injury in 2000, he failed to miss a single start in the National Baseball League. During that period, he served as the only commander of the defense as well as the entire team.
