Bluffton officer cause of death: What killed Bluffton officer?
42-year-old Dominic Francis who happens to be a Bluffton police officer was hit by a speeding car that had three passengers in it.
According to reports, the officer was trying to deploy stop sticks near exit 142 when he was hit by the pursued vehicle, which knocked him down and caused him to die on the spot.
Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Brice Nihiser speaking about the incident revealed that the death of the police officer happens to be one that has not happened in a very long time.
Speaking during a briefing, the Sergeant revealed that the police force was chasing the car for overspeeding and exceeding 120 miles per hour.
The three passengers after they hit the police officer were said to have gotten down from the car and fleed on foot.
Two of the people who were in the car have been caught by the police whiles one of them is still on the run and is still been searched for by the police.
Bluffton Police Chief Ryan Burkholder revealed that the death of officer Dominic Francis happens to be the first since the 1920s.
