Chilean tennis player Cristian Ignacio Garn Medone competes professionally. The Association of Tennis Professionals has ranked him as high as No. 17 in the world in singles, a position he first attained on September 13, 2021. He is currently ranked No. 1 in Chile.
He reached the top 10 in the ITF Junior Rankings in 2012, when he was 16 years old, after winning the Eddie Herr in singles and doubles as well as the Orange Bowl Doubles alongside Nicolas Jarry. In the first round of the 2013 VTR Open, Garin defeated Duan Lajovi at the age of 16 years and 8 months to become the youngest player from Chile to win an ATP Tour match.
He defeated Alexander Zverev in the championship match to claim the 2013 Junior French Open title. He was given a wild card for the 2014 Royal Guard Open, an ATP 250 tournament held in his native Chile, in his first year as a professional. He participated in the 2014 Davis Cup Americas Zone Group II in January for Chile, losing his singles match.
At the 2020 Córdoba Open, Garin won his third championship. Garin, the sixth Chilean man to ever be ranked in the top 20, became the first to win his maiden ATP Tour 500 championship at the 2020 Rio Open.
