Darrel Williams is a running back in American football for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. At Louisiana State University, he played collegiate football. He was a 2018 undrafted free agent signing by the Chiefs.
Williams was a four-star recruit out of John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana; he rushed for 2,036 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior. Arizona State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Florida all offered him scholarships.
Williams was a member of LSU’s four-man running back rotation during his freshman season. He started several games as a senior, filling up for an injured Derrius Guice.
He became the first player in LSU history to achieve at least 100 running yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game on October 21, 2017, against Ole Miss. Williams received an offer to participate in the 2018 Senior Bowl following the completion of LSU’s 2017 season.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Williams as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2018. It was a productive rookie season for him, as he had a total of 13 rushes for 44 yards three receptions for 27 yards, and a receiving score in his first year.
