Greg Gaines was born on May 6, 1996, and currently plays for the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams (NFL). He was a Washington State University football player.
In La Habra, California, Gaines attended La Habra High School. Gaines initially committed to Boise State but followed head coach Chris Petersen from Boise State to Washington upon his appointment as head coach.
Gaines attended Washington from 2015 to 2018, with the exception of 2014. As a defensive lineman, he earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 recognition in 2016, second-team All-Pac-12 recognition in 2017, and first-team All-Pac-12 recognition in 2018.
Gaines was named the 2018 Morris Trophy winner as the Pac-12’s outstanding defensive lineman (as voted on by opposing team players). He started and played in all 14 games.
Gaines has five tackles in his season-opening debut against Auburn. Additionally, he recorded three tackles in the win over Utah, including a nine-yard sack.
In 2017, Greg wedded his long-time girlfriend Sheyeann. The couple began dating in their sophomore year of high school in La Habra, California. They recently welcomed a newborn boy called Colt into their family.
