Alokesh Lahiri who is known in the public sphere as Bappi Lahiri, was an Indian singer, composer, politician and record producer.
He is said to have worked on numerous soundtracks for movies and has delivered major box office successes in Bengali films like Amar Sangee, Asha O Bhalobasha, Aamar Tumi, Amar and so on.
He was popular in the 1980s and 1990s with filmi soundtracks such as Wardat, Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Sharaabi, Naukar Biwi Ka.
Bappi Lahiri began to play tabla at the age of 3. Initially, he was trained by his parents.
Bappi Lahiri has left behind two children, a son Bappa Lahiri and a daughter Rema Lahiri. His son is married to Taneesha Lahiri with whom he has a son Krishh Lahiri.

How Did Bappi Lahiri Die?
Bappi Lahiri was said to have died whiles he was sleeping. The condition for his death is scientifically said to be a lung infection caused by obstructive sleep apnea.
Bappi died at the Juhu’s Criticare Hospital, where he breathed his last at 11:45 pm on 15 February 2022, aged 69.
