Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE is an English actor, producer and musician. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Born on September 6, 1972 (age 49 years), in London Borough of Hackney, London, in the United Kingdom, Idris has starred in a lot of movies as well as done a couple of songs as well.
Idris is said to have quite a number of wives for himself as most of them end in a divorce with the first to Hanne “Kim” Nørgaard (from 1999 to 2003) and then to Sonya Nicole Hamlin (for four months in 2006).
He has two children: a daughter with Nørgaard and a son with former girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
The actor has been nominated for a couple of awards as in 2013, Elba was named Essence‘s annual Sexiest Man of the Year and, in 2018, he was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. In October 2014, Elba was presented with a MOBO Inspiration Award.

Idris also has a son, Winston Elba, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth. Winston is Idris’ youngest child and was born in April 2014.
