Cheyenne Nicole Woods is a professional golfer from the United States who was born on July 25, 1990. Woods was born in the Arizona city of Phoenix.
She is the daughter of Susan Woods and Earl Dennison Woods Jr., the half-brother of golfer Tiger Woods, making Cheyenne Tiger’s half-niece. Earl Woods (Tiger’s father), her paternal grandfather, was her first coach and motivation.
Woods revealed in an interview with Golf Digest that her mother was white and her father was African American, with some Native American and Asian ancestry.
The Xavier College Preparatory golf team, which Woods was a member of, won back-to-back Arizona 5A State Championships in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2012 from Wake Forest University, where she competed on the golf team for the Demon Deacon. She has won more than 30 amateur competitions in her career so far.
At the Wegmans LPGA tournament in 2009, she earned a sponsor exemption to compete. She was four strokes off the cut line. She won the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship in April of that year.
