Ben Niemann (born July 27, 1995) is an NFL linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs. He went to Iowa for college football.
Niemann grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, moving frequently because his father was a football coach. He played football and basketball for Sycamore High School in Sycamore, Illinois. He was a first-team all-state wide receiver and safety in football.
Niemann played four seasons for the Iowa Hawkeyes, starting 40 games. As a true freshman, he was a reserve linebacker who blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown against Northwestern.
In his sophomore season, Niemann started as an outside linebacker for Iowa and had 45 tackles (4.5 for loss), four QB sacks, and two pass break-ups. As a senior, he had 80 tackles (six for loss), a sack, five passes broke up, and two forced fumbles. Niemann had 201 tackles, 17 sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in his career.
