Jody Lukoki was a professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of Congo who last played as a winger for FC Twente and the DR Congo national team.
Lukoki was born in Zaire, but due to the First Congo War, he moved to the Netherlands with his parents and twin brother, NAC Breda player Madjer Lukoki.
He joined the local club VVA/Spartaan when he was eleven years old while growing up in Amsterdam.
Lukoki joined Ajax’s youth divisions after playing for VVA/Spartaan and Young Boys Haarlem. On 19 January 2011, he made his first team debut in a 2–0 home win over Feyenoord, replacing Lorenzo Ebecilio in the 80th minute.
When the ball was already out of play, he gave Tim de Cler a nutmeg to gain the support of the home crowd.
On March 20, 2011, he made his second appearance in a 3–2 away loss to ADO Den Haag. Lukoki scored his first Eredivisie goal in his season debut against Roda JC to kick off the 2011–12 season.
Lukoki played for the Netherlands at several levels of youth competition. At the Festival International ‘Espoirs’ 2012 in Toulon, France, he finished third with the U-19 team.
He has dual citizenship and can represent either the Netherlands or the Democratic Republic of Congo at the senior level.
Lukoki was called up to the DR Congo team for the match against Iraq on March 19, 2015, and got his first cap in the game.
