Josh Fleming Biography
Joshua Randol Fleming, an American professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball, was born on May 18, 1996. (MLB). In August of 2020, he made his MLB debut.
Fleming played baseball for the Columbia Eagles at Columbia High School in Columbia, Illinois.
The Tampa Bay Rays selected Fleming out of Webster University in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB draft. He joined with the Princeton Rays that year and made his debut with them. Fleming had a 5.40 ERA in 12 games last season (nine starts).
Fleming began the 2018 season with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, pitching in ten games and with a 1.20 ERA. Fleming joined the Charlotte Stone Crabs in July and posted a 3–3 record with a 4.11 ERA in his first season.
Fleming was voted MVP of the season by the Montgomery Biscuits after recording a 21-game winning record with a 3.31 ERA. With the Durham Bulls, he concluded the season with a 5.14 ERA in four appearances.
Fleming was added to the Rays’ 60-man roster in July 2020. After Rays starter Yonny Chirinos was rendered out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured UCL on August 21, Kevin Cash revealed that Fleming will be brought up and make his MLB debut on August 23 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
