For her parts in the movies Soapdish, Sister Act, and Hocus Pocus, American actress and activist Kathy Najimy is best known. The Fisher King, Soapdish, This Is My Life, and The Hard Way all featured her in quirky supporting roles towards the beginning of the 1990s. Sister Mary Patrick, a character in the 1992 comedy Sister Act, was her first significant acting job.
In Sister Act 2, she played this part again in 1993. Furthermore, she played Mary Sanderson in Hocus Pocus. In Disney’s 1993 film Hocus Pocus and its 2022 sequel, Mary Sanderson and her sister Sarah serve as one of the two secondary antagonists.
Together with her two sisters, Winifred and Sarah, she was one of three witches who lived during the Salem Witch Trials. Following their awakening from the dead after 300 years, Mary and her sisters made an attempt to abduct children and steal their souls in order to prevent themselves from dying and aging again. She’s good at smelling out the presence of kids.
She made an appearance in the musical drama film Music, which singer-songwriter Sia directed, in 2021. On February 10, 2021, it was presented in a limited number of IMAX theaters for one night, and two days later, it was made available nationwide on premium video on demand.
