Kutter Martin Crawford is a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball in the United States. He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2021. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 209 pounds, and he throws and bats right-handed.
Crawford graduated from Okeechobee High School in Okeechobee, Florida, and went on to play baseball for Florida Gulf Coast University. The Boston Red Sox selected him in the 16th round of the 2017 MLB draft.
Crawford made his professional debut in 2017 with the New York–Penn League’s Class A Short Season Lowell Spinners.
He made 27 starts with the Class A Greenville Drive and the Class A-Advanced Salem Red Sox in 2018, earning a 7–7 record with a 3.26 ERA (ERA).
Crawford returned to Salem in 2019 and was promoted to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. He had Tommy John surgery in October of the next year after throwing in only one game after mid-July.
He did not pitch professionally in 2020 due to the end of the minor-league season, and he had elbow surgery in the midst of the year to remove bone spurs.
Crawford began the year with Portland before getting promoted to Triple-A with the Worcester Red Sox.
As of September 5th, Boston has added Crawford to its active roster as an undrafted free agent. In the game against the Cleveland Indians, he took the loss after giving up five runs in two innings.
