Kwasi Kwateng Served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Spelthorne in northern Surrey since 2010. He was born on May 26, 1975, and is currently 47 years old.
He was Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy from 2021 to 2022 before serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer under Liz Truss from September to October of that year.

Kwarteng issued a “mini-budget” on September 23 that included a number of tax cuts, which received harsh criticism and briefly led the value of sterling against the US dollar to drop to its all-time low.
After only 38 days, Kwarteng was removed as Chancellor on October 14. After Iain Macleod, who passed away in office, he was the post-war Chancellor with the second-shortest tenure. Jeremy Hunt succeeded Kwarteng.
