Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Mercedes. John Henry Newman School is a voluntary-aided Catholic secondary school in Stevenage, which is where Alexander Hamilton received his education.
Because he was bullied at school when he was just five years old, Hamilton began training in karate as a means of self-defense.
When it was discovered that he had been falsely accused of attacking a classmate, he was expelled from school for a time period. The victim had to be transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
In addition to racing, he played association football for his school team alongside Ashley Young, who would go on to represent England at the international level.
Hamilton, an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club, has stated that if Formula One hadn’t worked out for him, he would have pursued a career in either football or cricket, both of which he played for his school teams.
The month of February 2001 marked the beginning of his academic career at Cambridge Arts and Sciences (CATS), a private sixth-form institution located in Cambridge.
