Lucas Luetge is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball(MLB). He has played for the Seattle Mariners in the MLB before becoming a player with the Yankees.
He was born March 24, 1987, at Brenham, Texas, the United States of America to couple Rocky Luetge and his wife Melissa Luetge.
Luetge signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees for the 2021 season upon which he received an invitation to spring training. After a serious spring training in which he accumulated 18 strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched, Luetge was selected to the Yankees’ Opening Day roster on March 31.
He signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees for the 2021 season and he has been there since.
He had his MLB debut on April 7, 2012, for the Seattle Mariners. Luetge attended Bellville High School in Bellville, Texas and had his university education at Rice University, where he played college baseball for the Rice Owls baseball team.
