Gil was dealt to the New York Yankees for Jake Cave on March 16, 2018. He pitched for the Pulaski Yankees and the Staten Island Yankees this season, combining for a 2–3 record and 1.96 ERA in 12 starts, striking out 68 batters in 46 innings. In July, he was promoted to the Tampa Tarpons after starting the year with the Charleston RiverDogs.
Gil finished 5–5 with a 2.72 ERA in twenty starts for the two clubs, striking out 123 batters in 96 innings.
Gil joined the Somerset Patriots for the first half of the 2021 season before being promoted to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in June. Gil threw a no-hitter for the RailRiders on July 21 with Reggie McClain and Stephen Ridings.
